Understanding meet info
When you sign up for a meet the coach will put your child into events.
When you arrive at the pool there will be event sheets you will need to look at and on your child's hand with a sharpie you will write, Event #, Event name, and how many yards or meter it will be, ie( #7 50 free) Coaches will then be able to add lane and heat numbers once the meet is seeded. Most children will swim at least 2 individual events and a relay or 2. Relays are both Medley and Free and will depend on level of swimmer which they may be placed in.
At the end of the meet we get results and we like to share the info with families.
Swimmers will have a time for each event and this will help you see how they improve through the season. If you see a DQ beside their name it means they were disqualified and need a coach to help fix something for the next race.
